ZOE FOWLER
Writer, mentor, coach.

I write to bear witness to the joys, griefs, struggles, and wonders of being human. I write to explore the art of being alive. And I write because, ultimately, it is our stories that connect us all.

My work has been published in a variety of journals, including NYT's Modern Love, Fourth Genre, Bellingham Review, Bellevue Literary Review and others, and I was honored to be a finalist in the Caledonia Novel Award, the Craft Creative Nonfiction Prize, and Fourth Genre's Steinberg Memorial prize. I have a Masters of Studies in Creative Writing from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Education.

My current manuscripts include Looking for Lois, a collection of essays that connect my experiences of loving an addict to the life story of Lois Wilson, founder of Al-Anon and wife of AA's Bill W. , and Hope and Keep Busy, a comedic novel that reimagines the Alcott family living in modern-day Vermont.

I am passionate about helping new writers find their most authentic voice, and through positive constructive feedback supporting their confidence in their craft. Each of us has a unique voice, and it can be a gift to bring this into the world.

I am also a broken-neck survivor with a particular interest in the complex interrelationships between our identities and our bodies.
