ABOUT ME
For many years, I loved an alcoholic and, like many who love addicts, I lost the right to tell the stories of my life. In a society filled with shame and stigma, I felt silenced. 'Looking for Lois' explores the stories I was unable to speak. Weaving my story with that of Lois Wilson, founder of Al-Anon, it explores how hope and courage co-exist with anger, denial and grief. It's a book about co-dependency, loss and, above all, love.

I love working with other writers. I hold a PhD in Education from the University of London and a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Oxford. I have been fortunate to teach at a wide range of levels from community workshops to postgraduate courses in both the UK and US, and my academic research focuses on experiential learning. I also serve as the principal researcher for a national center, collaborating with colleges across the US.

A keen advocate of the importance of work-life balance, I celebrate being outdoors and spend as much time as I can in Vermont's mountains and forests. A perennial student, my latest venture is learning how to use a chain saw!
